Pros: versatile but solid

"The ladder feels steady in use. The hinges lock very positively when unfolding the ladder but pass the lock positions when returning to the storage position easing changes to the configuration."

Pros: very sturdy and well mad
Cons: heavy, feet too wide for use on the stairs

"These are a good set of ladders, the feet are a little wide but this does help with the stability, they are very heavy but if you are just using them around the house they are ideal, however this does make you feel more secure when climbing them as you feel they are very sturdy"

Great Buy, 08 November 2009
By Taranaki from Swansea
Good Quality: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Value for money: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: very good value
Cons: locking mechanisms a little tricky initially

"Really versatile ladder. I can use it as a platform for cutting hedges etc, as a loft ladder or a longer ladder. I am surprised how many of the reviewers complain about the weight. I am an 8st 10lb woman and find it quite manageable. It does take a little while to get the hang of the unlocking mechanisms and the order to use them - but it's not a huge problem."

Short but Sturdy, 02 November 2009
By joka from Winchester
Good Quality: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Value for money: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: well made
Cons: appears longer than it is

"Well made and strong, but heavy and not as long as it sounds-working height is NOT ladder length.
Worst prob was stand-off ladder use is for a single story sloping roof, it does not reach my ordinary single story extension.

"good quality ladder which can extends to 3.72m. Down side is a little heavy and oily due to the heavier metal, strength and 3 large click-stopped hinges. Would recommend this as it is safe to use and easy to fold."

"I got this ladder for decorating our very high stairs,
sturdy and felt very comfortable while painting.
Only drawback is; erecting the ladder can be a pain if space is tight. Overrule a great and handy ladder- Good price as well.

Rugged ladder which fits in the boot, 16 October 2009
By NeedsMorePractice from Berkshire
Good Quality: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Value for money: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: strength
Cons: there's a knack to unfastening the catches

"Really strong ladder . Catches are a bit fiddly to use but everything locks very positively in place so it inspires confidence when you use it. Fairly heavy but that is a small price to pay for strength and durability. Folds up quite small and fits in the boot no problem. Note this cannot be used as a high platform, just incase you had that idea in mind."

Pros: very stable

Value for money: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: very sturdy ladders, good safety catches
Cons: none

"i bought this ladder primarily to remove the wallpaper and re decorate my high staircase.
the ladder did the job great in being able to lean against the wall while the base was wedged against the stairs.
the qaulity is far better than i expected for the price. these are a really sturdy set of ladders and feel very solid when working on them.
this is very reasuring if like me youre not too keen on working on a ladder.

Good for quick jobs, 05 October 2009
By quereshisaab from London
Good Quality: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Value for money: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: compact, versatile
Cons: uncomfortable to stand on

"This space saver folds into a very compact size for easy storage. This is a very useful feature if you are London where space is at a premium. You can also bend it into various shapes. Since is needs to take a number of different places th rungs on the ladder have a narrow round cross section. It make is very uncomfortable to stand of for a long period of time because your entire body weight is concentrated on a small area of your foot. Hence it is only good for quick jobs."

Top rung product, 14 August 2009
By FlappyCat from Always moving
Good Quality: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Value for money: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: good quality, good price

"I thought this ladder might be a bit too clever for it's own good at this price but it really is a bargain. Sturdy, easy to manipulate and small to store.

A lot of people mention the weight but in context of how long the ladder is, I don't find it heavy - I think it just seems heavy because it folds so small.

"I had to replace my old "A"-frame ladder and wanted something that could be used indoors and outside. This item seemed to meet my requirements at a good price. Am I glad I looked at the Wickes site. The ladder is so versatile, it will go anywhere - and most importantly - it's rock solid and feels very safe."

Excellent but very heavy, 06 August 2009
By Bond1944 from Richmond North Yorkshire
Good Quality: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Value for money: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: good quality
Cons: too heavy

"The ladder was exceptional value however
the biggest drawback is that it is far too heavy
and I dont think this was stressed enough in
the description. I am now having to dispose of
it and buy a lighter one.

One of the best around, 05 August 2009
By doitright from Sussex
Good Quality: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Value for money: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: well constructed, good value
Cons: on the heavy side

"At the time I bought this item it was actually more expensive ‘in store’ than buying on line with next day delivery.
The item is very soundly constructed and provides good stability in use. Compact, but it’s no featherweight.
There are several more expensive and poorer quality units on the market. This Wickes product is in my opinion well worth the money.

Multi-Purpose Ladder, 20 November 2008
By Burcho from London
Good Quality: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5
Value for money: 2 out of 5 2 out of 5

Pros: very compact when folded for storage.

"The ladder is easy to configure and is stable in each configuration.

But it is important to know that the description of the ladder states 2.47m in step ladder mode, which is misleading, as this is the safe working height based on someone 1.8m tall. In step ladder mode the actual height to the top run is approximately 1.6m high.
