Pros: excellent for deep repairs, good finish in one application
Cons: care needed in mixing, goes off quicker
" There is no doubt that the traditional two coat approach is better for coating an entire wall. One coat tends to remain workable for less time, so it's really not great for large areas. One coat excels for smaller areas such as hole repair or filling in channelling after rewiring. It recommends up to 20mm but can go a lot deeper for small areas. The plaster can happily cope with several inches of depth in one go. It won't crack but it may slump a little at that depth which is why it can't go that deep over a large area.
It is more difficult to mix than ordinary plaster. I found the best way was to make it slightly sloppy at first, allow it to stand for five minutes, then add some more dry plaster to get the desired viscosity. If you don't do that you could find the entire batch going solid in five minutes. You also get less time to work with the one coat so make sure you don't mix more than you can use in half an hour, say. It's best to just make up a little at first and more and more as you get some experience with it.
Overall it's a really valuable product, provided you know when and where to use it. It is expensive, but it can save more than it's cost in time when used correctly.

" I have used this product many times
it is excellent over old undercoat plaster
have used it many times as a deep hole filler (mix it thick like polyfiller
and for flattening / levelling off old walls before tileing
i dont use it for quality paint finsh as i use multi finish plaster
ok finish for wallpaper
and as a filler can be easily sanded before painting
you must use a spong float to get best finish
i also use it as a background plaster over old damaged walls (use pva mix first) as it forms an excellent base before final skimming with mutli finsh - sand if required
if you do this then use your sponge float (swirling action to rough the one coat just before it sets to give a key for the top coat
another use is on decorative plaster coving
pva dry edges use thick mix and over fill
then when it is hardening shape with knife, blade fingers etc then wet it and smooth with a sponge

" The best one-coat plaster I have used. Mixes easily and with a bit of hard word can even be smoothed to a final skim. I have used it on walls and ceilings to equally good effect. Looks great when finished and does not shrink. "

" An excellent derivertive from Knauf's MP75. As long as you know how to use the product properly and with the correct tools, the finish will be fantastic!! "

" Used to fill cable chases and completed the job perfectly. Went off quick so the job could be finished and I could go home and to the pub. Wouldn't use for plastering full walls though "
