Pros: easy to use
" When using the fill hole with water method needed a helper. When I had to do a couple of posts on my own decided to experiment with post in - dry mix straight out of the bag and tamp in to level position then wet with watering can. This worked great as well and meant I could get on with the posts myself - note this was spring and the soil is pretty damp - dont know if it would set as well if the surrounding soil was dry. "

Pros: quick, good price, minimal mess, no mixer to clean out
" Pour it in, add water and wait a few minutes. Idiot proof. No point even thinking about self mixing as to use quickcem you save a bare minimal. This product is perfect for the job of fitting fence posts. "

Pros: real fast setting
Cons: mixing needs more care than described
" Great stuff - except mixing as described left large chunks un-wetted (which is bound to crumble apart). Mix as you fill the hole with much smaller quantities of water & cement - and you can get a proper 'puden' all thru the cast. A helper is really useful (as the stuff goes off so fast). "

Pros: right amount for single post, bags are weatherproof, 20kg is manageable
" Very useful product. One bag to one post. it is worth shuttering the post hole before using the postcrete as there is only 20kg per bag. Use cardboard for temporary shuttering - it bio-degrades. If you have had to do some serious excavating to get the old posts out you can end up with a large hole to fill and would need several bags of postcrete unless you build shuttering. New post in virgin ground - easy! "

Pros: perfect for fixing posts quickly
Cons: no real cons.
" Does exactly what it says on the tin. Dig a hole, put your post in the hole, put a little water in the hole, pour in the postcrete top up with a little more water if required. Position post with spirit level. Hold post for a couple of minutes. Hey presto solid post. I would wait ten minutes before supporting anything against it. "

" have used this before for the odd fence post, which was handy. i needed to fill several deep, wide potholes on a long tarmac drive so thought i would give this a try rather than use bags of bitumen. the look of the finish was not important as the whole drive will be resurfaced.
this turned out to be a great fix. have had loads of heavy traffic....scaffold lorries....brick/sand/ballast & timber deliveries.....ro-ro skips, as well as "normal traffic" and this has stood up really well for more than 4 months. i suppose if you wanted the finish to be more visually pleasing you could paint it with bitumen paint !!!
