Cons: no fitting instructions
"Recently purchased from Huntingdon store.
This cylinder jacket was in 4 sections although your product description clearly states that it is 5 Panel design. Each section has an eyelet at the top. Ties were supplied.
It was quite difficult fitting this in an airing cupboard where the space around the cylinder was a bit tight.
I might have found the task easier if it had come with instructions, but there was NO FITTING INSTRUCTIONS with this product. There wasn't even a bar code on the bag so I had to tell the lady at the checkout what the product was so she could identify it on her computer.

"Poor quality control. Jacket was in 4 sections . Each section was supposed to have a metal eyelet at the top to enable a cord to be threaded through. One section had no eyelet. Couldn't be bothered returning . Did a Heath Robinson and poked a hole through and reinforced with gaffa tape.
First purchase with Wickes ? Totally unimpressed with them .
A full refund as a goodwill gesture would help.."

Pros: clear instructions, looks quite neat once fitted
Cons: lace to tie the panels together somewhat short
"Generally pleased with this item, although a little fiddly to fit around a tank that is in an awkward space. Pack clearly marked as 4-panel jacket not 5 as previous design.
Fitted on my own relatively quickly but would have been nice to have the top lace longer than a shoelace.
Not tested long term yet but overall seems it will do the job well, only drawback being my airing cupboard won't be so good for drying laundry :-)"

Pros: cheap, easy to install, no fuss
"My Hot Water Cylinder was previously not insulated, so got this jacket and fitted it, had the job done in half an hour, great that it is in 3 parts as this let be wrap the tank really snugly, even with the clearance between the tank and the wall was around an inch."

Pros: installation pretty much impossible to get wrong
Cons: bulky to handle (but lightweight)
"A cost-effective way to insulate your hot water storage cylinder. My old jacket was beginning to disintegrate. This new one has probably already saved its own cost by being far more effective at keeping the hot water hotter for longer."

"A good product, but it was described on the web site as having five panels. It came as a four panel jacket - which did not fit as easily as five panels would have done."

Pros: easy fit, immediately effective
Cons: fixing tape a little weak
"This jacket is a good size & will fit the majority of water cylinders. It is easy to fit & immediately effective. It comes in sections which are tied together at the top & then hang down around the cylinder. This allow you to tuck the sections around the pipework. To finish you tie the tape supplied around the tank body, once towards the top and again lower down on the cylinder, to keep everthing in place.
TIP - To neaten the top, fold & tuck in the corners of each section.
Important - if an immersion heater is fitted, make sure that the round connection box ( where the power cable goes in) is left exposed, otherwise the immersion thermostat may not operate correctly or overheat & trip out altogether.

Pros: separate panels help to fit in tight corners, can fit two - one on top of other
Cons: jacket could get torn if in busy place
"Replaced an old worn-out jacket with two of these - fit one then can fit another one on top for extra insulation because of construction in several panels . Easy to fit, instructions clear and seems to be working v well. Area around cylinder is less warm now - heat is staying in the cylinder where it should be.
Jacket outside layer is like thickish plastic (not sure what exactly) so not sure if it will last a long time when near a hot cylinder - we'll see!
The jackets were delivered v quickly after ordering and were well packed and in good condition."

"Bought this a few months ago to insulate our water heater. Comes in panel form, so you tie the panels together at the top, then wrap the panels around the water tank and secure.
Easy to fit and good value for money"

"I installed the jacket over an existing one. No problems with fitting - obvious what to do. Slight issue with 'quality' (a metal eye for threading the tie was missing) but this was irrelevant to overall function. Seems to have made immediate difference - airing cupboard not as warm, so the heat staying where it should be. No brainer to fit this in my situation and I am sure it will pay back in very short time."

Pros: even i can fit it
Cons: the supplied tape is too easy to snap
"It took me a few moments to figure out exactly what I was supposed to do with the five rolls of insulation in the package, but half-an-hour later my hot water tank was sporting a bright red puffer jacket, and the airing cupboard was a lot cooler, meaning that the heat now stays in the tank!"
