Rolawn Blended Loam Topsoil Bulk Bag
Ideal for using in planting and landscaping where a quality outcome is essential. Screened to 20mm. Minimal stone content. Typical Ph 7.3. Friable- workable in wet conditions. Tested to BS3882:2007. Coverage: Up to 20m2 at a depth of 50mm. Approximately 50% more product compared to one tonne of ordinary top soil. A bulk bag of Rolawn Blended Loam Topsoil from Wickes contains approximately 1m3 (100 x 100 x 100cm) when packed. 1 tonne of ordinary topsoil only contains approximately 0.67m3. 100 x 100 x 100cm approximately when packed. This product is home delivered only and not available in-store. Please note, delivery is to kerbside only, as near as possible to the delivery address. A solid flat surface such as tarmac or a paved drive is required.

"First time i have laid a lawn and the quality off the topsoil was very good, also bought 30 rolls of turf which turned up nice and damp, it was ordered and delivered in a heat wave so it was nice and new fresh turf, it took to the ground easily and looks lovely.
Cant think off any negative things to say about the order.

Pros: what i wanted
Cons: might be too great an amount for some users
"Very happy both with purchase and delivery. The topsoil was good quality with no foreign objects.
Driver (local pallet company) arrived at around 08:00, and dropped pallet on pavement outside back-garden door to street. Taking it very easy, as befits my years, and using the garden-waste wheelie bin with a small load (ten spadefuls each time ) and with plenty of restbreaks, I had finished getting it into the garden by 12:00. Probably more topsoil than needed for my project (small lawn) but any residue certainly won't go to waste."

"I thought I was buying quality Blended loam topsoil. I got a pile of dirt that was full of broken glas I lost count at 38, bits of torn vinyl, old wood posts amongst other things. Unfortunately I had to put it down as I'd already prepared the back garden so had to screen the whole bag as I went along. I don't blame Wickes as they were really helpful in trying to sort the mess out and get an apology( I got £51.38 as a goodwill gesture from Rolawn not even an apology)"

We have spoken about this issue to Rolawn and they have assured us that whilst they have procedures in place to guard against foreign objects being present in any of their products, something must have gone wrong on this occasion.
They are reviewing their procedures as a matter of urgency and have given us assurances that the Rolawn Blended Loam Topsoil sold by Wickes will be of the highest quality.
Rolawn has a policy of continuous improvement, defined by strict procedures laid down in audited quality management systems based on BS EN ISO 9001:2008. This standard contains actions and controls for every stage of product development from the receipt and inspection of raw materials, through the production process to packaging and despatch.

Cons: poor method of delivery
"No problem with quality of soil, I'm not sure why some of the reviews are complaining about weeds, although I only took delivery today so time will tell. You would think that with a bulk bag delivery such as this it would be delivered by a lorry with a crane attached but no, it is delivered on a pallet and pump truck! We barely got it onto the pavement let alone the driveway so consequently I had to urgently get it moved rather than being able to do it over the weekend as I had planned."

"Good quality but thousands upon thousands of little weeds which after 5 weeks I am still picking out of garden. Quite expensive but the plants have thrived since being put in.
I also ordered Sub base, Sharp sand, Cement etc and it all came in seperate deliveries which was quite frustrating as I had to keep taking days off work as they only give you a day slot!"

Cons: bit pricey.
"We had 2m3 of this soil delivered and they were slightly different; one was finer and sandier than the other. Both were excellent quality for my raised beds.
Delivery was a little slower than expected but the drivers were both really friendly and helpful.
I thought the price a bit expensive but as the quality was good and service efficient I was happy to pay it."

"The topsoil was alright but I was expecting the soil to be of fine grains and not be as lumpy with so many large stones. It did the job well enough.
However it would have been better if I had been directed to the equipment I could have used to do the job of laying the lawn completly level and flat. I'll know better next time, how to get the lawn exactly how I want."
