Pros: easy in all departments
Cons: lock a bit tricky

"Chosen based on value and did not miss that target. Ordered online - easy. Good delivery communications and on time, etc. Delivery men very helpful. Own builder fitted and had only small difficulty (not the product at fault). Lock is a bit difficult to work but smooth runners and great looker. This is a tremendous improvement on our old hardwood doors which were almost antique. Expecting to also replace the 6 foot doors as well soon."

you get what you pay for, 19 November 2009

Pros: cheap
Cons: heavy to move

"this is a good basic set of doors, easy to assemble with adequate instructions. The end stops are a bit unsightly and the handle is set very close to the side upright leaving little room for large hands. It flexes a bit in the middle so for extra stability benefits from really good fixing along the top. Quite heavy to open and close, definately not finger-tip movement. But overall not bad at the price."

"Purchased 3 of these sliding doors to make a large patio. Two pairs form the front and one pair the side.
Extremely pleased with the result.
Assembly was quick and straightforward.
Delivery as agreed. Carried onto conservatory site.

Pros: good price but you get what you pay for
Cons: finish could be better

"there`s a few design problems that could be improve, 1st the fixed panel has movment in it because there is no fittings to secure it to frame.
2nd the interlock covers keep coming off when we open and close door
3rd the lock had to be dismantled and rearanged to work properly

disappointing product, 11 August 2009

Pros: nothing
Cons: delivery time, expensive for diy product, not properly reversible, very heavy sliding mechanism, flimsy latch & lock

"This was installed by experienced builders, not a diyer.
It claims to be reversible - yes, but not completely. If you have the right hand leaf opening the lock is upside down & back to front but if you flip the door over the low-e glass is on the wrong side, as the label tells you.
After 3 months the locking lever is loose and is generally awkward to operate, being partly concealed by the handle.
The sliding action is far too heavy for the size of door, requiring a hefty pull - a 1500 wide slider I installed elsewhere from another manufacturer can be moved with a little finger (as can their 2400 door) but this one requires strength to operate.
The sliding door slides on the outside of the rail so wind blown debris collects in the track. A design fault - my other door by another manufacturer is exactly the opposite for this very reason.
All in all, a poor product and I expect I will replace it within a couple of years. Far better is available for not much more.

"The excellent Washington Patio Door and the Pergola are now installed and the result transforms that part of the house. I only wish I had done it earlier.
Well don Wicks!

Pros: quality price
Cons: bad instruction manual

"This was the first time i had fitted a patio door, one thing i would say is that the instruction manual is a little unclear some times and you really have to read it very carefully, The quality and construction of the door is great and is well worth the money.
On the improvement side i think the door handle could be looked at so locking and unlocking couldn be made easier but this is a major concern.
