Pros: collect in store
Cons: do not get it delivered
"If you buy in store and you choose your own then this product is fine. If you get it delivered you will receive bent/twisted wood. No care is taken in choosing straight pcs. Do not get Wickes to deliver it!"

Pros: ease of handling
"First time I have used this timber for stud work and it is so much nicer to work with - no rough edges and a good finished size. Out of 29 lengths bought only one had had amount of bow - pretty good."

Cons: no door lining sets at suitable size
"You have to watch indivual pieces of timber, as quite a lot are warped -obviously not ideal for partition walls though you can use them as Noggins at a pinch.
Why on earth don't Wickes make a door lining set to suit this size though? The 106mm wide is too small for even 9.5mm plasterboard, and the 131mm is far too wide for 12.5mm plasterboard.

Cls Timber,

Pros: nice to work with
Cons: a little more expensive but worth it
"Excellent for building stud partitions. Just finished using it for my loft conversion.
Be carefull when purchasing as some lenghts can still be bowed or splintered somewhat. Nice to work with planed timber as opposed to rought cuts.

Bring on the Projects!,

Pros: price, finish, convenience, tough, no warping
Cons: only two sizes, getting it home in car
"Fed up with pricey wood that bends & gives you splinters? This is the stuff you need! It is machined to an exact size, so your plans will go together correctly first time every time. There is virtually no warping, and best of all no sharp edges to sand down. It comes in two sizes - one a little deeper than the other, but the same width so easy to use together. This Canadian Lumber Standard CLS is meant to be for studwork, but I think it is too good for that. Although described as "sawn timber" it has a lovely silky smooth finish. You can only get it in 2.4 m (8ft) lengths, but this will fit many ordinary cars if you angle it across the passenger seat into the footwell or up into the windscreen area"
